Match report Tendring park 171-9 beat long Melford 1st X1 107 all out by 64 runs.
Tendring started well with de alwis hitting some early boundaries until he fell to Ayrton but skipper woolston batted nicely for his 46. Sunderland in at 3 but was run out by keeper Hoadley without troubling the scorer. In came Marcus willingham at 4 and once he got his eye in changed the game in the favour of Tendring. Willingham was finally caught behind for 83 off the bowling of wood who finished with 3 wickets for 44 off his 10. The best bowling figures for Melford came from L Hall who ended up with 4 wickets for 55 off 10 with the last wicket being hall's 1,000th for Melford so a big well done for a massive achievement!
In reply Melford started badly with both N Henbury and A Skeggs falling cheaply and leaving the score at 3-2. a Kemp and b Byford offered some resistance to the Tendring attack with 23 and 27 respectively. D cresswell did the damage for Tendring finishing with 5 wickets for 27 runs off his 10. The only other person to score runs for Melford was Hoadley who was eventually caught for 37 and once he was out that was really the end of the Melford challenge.
