Match report Yet again Long Melford did not put enough runs on the board as an excellent bowling display almost rescued them away at Brockley.
Asked to bat on a two-paced wicket, the top order toiled against the accuracy of Sykes and Geeves.
Gareth Boon was caught, Bill Byford trapped lbw and Joe Harvey snaffled behind down the leg side all without making double figures.
Elliot Pinkham was bowled for 30, Hugh Walters miscued after several boundaries and was caught for 17 and only Matt Hoadley offered any further resistance as Melford limped to 98 all out.
Stuart Whitehart bowled several ferocious deliveries, accounting for Fisher. Jeffery and Cowley, and Walters returned the remarkable figures of one wicket for just 15 runs from 17 overs.
James French took two in four overs but Hill and Geeves rode their luck as Brockley scrambled over the line with three wickets remaining.
